Is it already November?

Where oh where has the time gone?  I'm a little saddened that it's been since August that I've blogged, but I guess it's safe to say that I've been a little busy!  I will also say that it's hard being a working mom!  Cynthia is at a great day care and we absolutely love it, but so often I look at my computer only to see her smiley face and wish that I was around her to make her smile.  And not to mention that we're all tired by the time that we get home, so the house has taken a bit of a back seat!

I do look at her sweet little face and still realize what a little miracle she is!  And there are times that I am still shocked that I'm a mommy!  When Randi says that Cynthia's mommy is here to pick her up, it just sounds so weird sometimes!  But, I LOVE BEING A MOMMY!  Josh is being a great daddy and Cynthia just LOVES him!

It's amazing how fast they grow and learn.  Cynthia is crawling, quite quickly, and of course pulling herself up on everything!  She's also totally into chowing down and loves feeding herself just about everything that we give her!  She still hasn't broken her first tooth, but that doesn't slow her down at all.

Well, here are some of the newest pics...

We survived our first stomach bug and ear infection within in day of each other.  This was my snuggly, sleepy, not feeling well girl.

6 months old and back to work!

Well, we've hit the six month mark...and it's happened way too fast! Cynthia is doing so good, and I'm daily still amazed with our little blessing.  She's still on the "bigger" end, 95th percentile for length and 92nd percentile for weight!  Her coordination has gotten so much better, she is able to immediately bring just about anything she wants directly to her mouth!  Cynthia is sitting up on her own and squirms around a bit.  She's still sleeping through the night, which I appreciate as I've headed back to work!  Yep, inservice is well under way and students come back soon.  We've found a great day care for Cynthia and she's doing great and loving it so far, and actually the day care is out of a house just a block away!  I will say that Cynthia just loves being a part of everything and is so observant.  I really think that she just loves watching and learning as the other kids are playing!  So here are some pics...

Everyone always says that she's so sweet and she really is happy all the time, here's proof that she does cry...but it totally makes me laugh sometimes!

Teething???  I think so!

Being a ham for our 6 month photos!

Yummm!

Cynthia totally smiles like this everytime she sees her daddy come into the room...even if she's tired and cranky and fighting with mommy!

Happy baby!

Four Months Old and a Poop Story

So, I'm going to start off with a story that all parents have, a poop story.  It still has me and Josh laughing, a few days later!

We'll just call this Cynthia's present for her Daddy!  It was Father's day and I was about to get ready to load up and leave with Cynthia to Bryan.  Cynthia was perfectly content, and then all of a sudden starts fussing, so Josh says "I'm going to change her diaper, I think she's got a poopy one."  So I decide to go in and check on them.  As he's undoing her onesie, I see some overflow on the edge and say, "oh yea, it's poopy all right."  Josh then lets me take over.  So, I start wiping her and as I lift her up a little I realize that the poop just doesn't seem to stop.  Then we comedically get the onesie off of her only to realize that in the process she ends up with poop all the way up to her shoulders and it's also all over the changing table.  So, we get her wiped off and then take the cover off the changing table.  I lay her back down on the table, and am getting another diaper ready to put on, and what does Cynthia start to do, but pee!  So now, her changing table pad gets covered in pee, even the back of her head gets wet...so it's bathtime for her!  We just laughed and laughed about it...what else could you do?!?!  I did have one question though, where does all the poop come from??

On a cleaner note, we are having a great summer off together!  She does a great job of sleeping through the night, and might only wake up once, and even sleeps in a bit, which makes mommy happy!  She is always such a smiley happy girl in the mornings.  She has found her feet in the past 3 weeks and loves grabbing them and bringing them up to her mouth.  And her new thing is to blow bubbles!  She is absolutely adorable when she talks back to her daddy saying "bbbbbbrrrrrrr" with slobber!

We just had her 4 month appointment and she's really doing great!  She's 16 lbs (92 %ile) and just over 25 inches long (94%ile)!  I'm about to have to pull out her 6 month clothes, she won't be in her 3-6mo much longer!  Josh and I are both amazed at how well she really is doing and growing and learning.  She truly is a blessing in our lives!

Finally, here are some pics for an update!

Sea World Girls Weekend!

A lot has happened since my last post.  I have gone back to work for the last month of school, our little one is smiling and "talking", A LOT, was blessed with a wonderful girls weekend to San Antonio and Sea World with my stepMother, and have moved Cynthia from her bassinet to her big girl crib!

It is hard for me to believe that almost 3 months ago our princess, Cynthia, made her appearance!  There are times that it seems like she should be so much older, and then there are times that I can't believe she's getting so big already!  I have really loved being a mommy to this little girl after only such a short time, and I just know that it's going to keep getting better.  Last week, we had to fill out the registration forms for Cynthia's day care at Eagle Wings next year.  Let me tell you, that was a little wierd, another moment that made both Josh and I realize that we truly are parents!

Just this last weekend my dad let his new wife, and Josh let his 2 girls leave town for a girls weekend!  I had never been to Sea World, so Anita decided that we should make a trip of it.  We had such a good time all weekend long!  When we got to San Antonio and checked into our hotel, we decided that it was time to check out the pool.  So, the three of us got suited up and headed down!  I was super glad that it was dark as I'm my body is still losing this baby weight!  Cynthia LOVED being in the water.  She has always loved her bath time, so she was super relaxed in the pool!  The next morning I was blessed with some time to go sit in the hot tub and also with a massage!  It was amazing!!!  Grandmama was also able to get some time with Cynthia!  We then headed to Sea World!  It was a hot, humid day with an on and off breeze, but I LOVED it!  We saw a couple shows, but my favorite was definitely the show with Shamu.  I am always amazed by the gracefulness of those big swimming mammals and how they jump and twist through the air just for fun!  We walked and walked and walked around and saw some of the different exhibits.  I am always amazed at God's creativity and imagination!

For the past 2 weeks or so, Cynthia has been sleeping fairly consistenly for 7-8 hours at night, so we decided that it was time for her to make the move to her own crib!  She has done great in it the past two nights!  It was so sweet to hear her "talking" herself to sleep last night!  She is a bit of a squirmer, so when we get her out of the crib in the morning, she is a little crooked, or completely turned around like in the picture below!

I only have a few more weeks of work, and I am looking very forward to having summer off to spend with my sweet, smiley girl!
